Chemicals used – Bromine, 002 Oxidiser, PH+ Sodium Carbonate, PH- Sodium Bisulphate (For more information on chemicals please read labels carefully which will be left with you at point of hire) You will also be required to add chemicals each day to keep your hot tub clear and safe and test the water three times a day. Please see the section “what you need to do whilst hiring” for more information.

Bromine tablets will be left in a dispenser, which will slowly release into the water throughout your hire.

Time to reach optimum temperature – Approx 24 hours (To help aid this in the winter, a steady flow of hot water will need to be provided from your domestic supply)

A suitable water supply will be needed

Electricity – We will supply all electrical cable up to approx 75ft, rated at IP54 (weather proof) a standard domestic13 amp power supply will be required.

Water – You will need to provide a garden hose pipe, if however you do not have access to a hose pipe, we can supply one.

Base or site - A flat level base to site the hot tub or spa, this can be slabbed, concrete, blocks, decking or any firm hard standing. Grassed areas are not ideal but in some cases using such as OSB board (2 x 8ft x 4ft boards) or similar this may be possible, if the ground is flat level and hard during the summer months a plastic sheet (which we can supply) could be used but please consult us for advice.

Exemptions – Pregnant women should not use hot tubs, children under the age of 14 are advised not to use hot tubs, the very elderly or people with health problems or taking medication should consult their doctor before use

What You Need To Do Whilst Hiring A Spa N A Box Hot Tub

Spa N A Box OutsideOnce we have delivered and installed your spa n a box hot tub, we will then fill and add the appropriate chemicals ready for you to use the following day if the optimum temperature has been reached.

We advise that you test the temperature of the water before you use the spa

You will need to test the waters PH levels three times a day whilst you are renting the hot tub (ph strips will be provided, and you will be shown what to do on installation)

You will then need to make a log on a record sheet provided of the PH level you have tested (this is very simple, you just take a strip from the pot you will be provided with and match the colour from the chart on the back of the pot)

If the PH is too low or too high, then you will need to rectify this by adding some chemicals that you will be left with. (again this is very simple you just add ph+ or ph- until the PH levels are at the guideline of between 7.0-7.6)

You will also need to add two scoops of oxidiser each day, to keep the water clean and fresh. (THE PUMP AND BLOWER JETS SHOULD BE LEFT ON WHEN CHEMICALS ARE ADDED, AND THE HOT TUB SHOULD BE CLEAR OF PEOPLE)

To ensure that your hot tub remains working well at the desired temperature, it is important that you change the filter once throughout a weekend hire. (A SPARE, CLEAN FILTER WILL BE LEFT WITH YOU IN A BUCKET. WHEN YOU CHANGE THE FILTER, TURN THE PUMP AND POWER OFF AND LEAVE YOUR USED FILTER SUBMERGED IN WATER UNTIL COLLECTION)

Now that you have replaced the filter, the pump will need bleeding before you switch it all back on. (YOU WILL BE SHOWN AT POINT OF HIRE HOW TO BLEED THE AIR AND YOU WILL BE LEFT WITH CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS. PUMP MUST NOT BE ON WHILST BLEEDING) Pumps need to be air bled each time the hot tub is switched off and then re-started, so it is advised that you keep your hot tub on during your hire, but turn off the jets when not in use to maintain the optimum temperature level.

People In Spa N A BoxIf you follow these steps then your experience will be a pleasant and enjoyable one. These steps are in place to ensure your safety and the safety of our equipment.

All you need to remember is the FOUR simple rules which are very easy to follow once shown:

Change filter once on a weekend hire
Air bleed pump after filter change

Take care of yourself and our equipment throughout your hire
